Adding a ceiling fan can keep you happily comfortable, lower your energy bills, and add make you smile.
Upgrading a ceiling fan can add new features like remote control, multiple speeds, a better built-in light fixture, and of course – update the design.
When shopping for a ceiling fan, consider:
Blade Size
The larger the room, the larger the blades will need to be. Generally, bedrooms work best with ceiling fans that have 29-36” blades. Give us a call if you want help determining the right blade size for your room.Number of Blades
As the number of blades go up, the quieter the fan will be. However, less air will be blown. For homes, it’s usually best to have a fan with 4-5 blades.Room Height/Shape
To be most effective, a ceiling fan should be 7-9 feet from the floor of the room. That means a fan in a room with a higher ceiling will need a longer down rod.
Yes, rooms with sloped ceilings can have ceiling fans. You just need a different mount than for a flat ceiling. Most new fans come with both options included.
New Ceiling Fan Installation
We can install a ceiling fan in a new location that didn’t used to have a fan.
Is there already a light fixture there? Good, then at least there is already power to the location. There also needs to be enough structure in the ceiling to support the weight of a ceiling fan. (Sometimes light fixtures are installed away from a ceiling joist or rafter – it’s not correct, but it happens.)
If you want a fan in a completely new location where there is not already a light fixture – we can do that! It might cost a bit more to pull power to that new location, but we can get it done for you.
All this means, when you call us to install a ceiling fan, as part of our $89 SaFE System Evaluation, we’ll investigate the details of mounting the new fan so you get a quote that’s guaranteed!.

A little wobble? Maybe. A lot of wobble? Nope – not okay!
A wobbly ceiling fan might seem harmless, but it can actually be a sign that something’s not quite right. It could be a balancing issue, loose screws, or even the wrong mounting hardware. If left unchecked, it could wear down your fan or become unsafe over time.
The good news? It’s usually a pretty quick fix—and we’re just the folks to do it! We’ll get that fan steady, safe, and spinning like a charm again.

- For small rooms up to 75 square feet, like a cozy office or guest room, go with a 29–36 inch fan.
- Medium rooms (about 76–144 sq ft) do best with a 36–42 inch fan.
- For larger spaces up to 225 square feet, think 44–50 inches.
- And if you’ve got a great room or open-concept area over 400 square feet—bring in the big guy: 60 inches or more!
