Dimmer switches make warmer smiles!
Changing the intensity of lighting leads to Iluuuumination – Happy lighting for a happy life!
We LOVE our new lights and the new dimmer switch in the kitchen. They did a great job and we look forward to using The Happy Outlet in the future. They are the best!
For example, when you get up in the middle of the night, wouldn’t it be nice if the bathroom light was a bit dimmer? But when you’re shaving or doing your makeup the next morning, the lights are as bright as you need to see clearly?
You need a dimmer switch.
We can happily install a wide variety of dimmer switches, including new smart dimmers that you can control from your smartphone.
Your brightly lit living room is warm and inviting for your guests. The same room with dimmed lighting is intimate and romantic.
Dimmer switch installation is actually pretty easy. In the old days, dimmers were bulky, buzzy units installed at the electrical panel. Nowadays, modern dimmer switches fit right were your light switch is. You can even choose your style of control:
- Slider with switch
- Paddle switch with side-slider
- Traditional swith with side-slider
- Paddle switch with up/down buttons
- Slider with on/off button

We install Leviton dimmers
We install Leviton dimmers because we believe they are the best. Even further, of all the Leviton dimmers, we strongly recommend the Pre-set Sureslide dimmer because of the large control paddles, and for it’s compatibility with the widest range of LED light bulbs, plus the maximum full-range dimming function.
LED Dimmer Switches
LED lights can have dimmers too, but they’re not interchangeable!
Also, not all LED lightbulbs are dimmable.
So the answer to “Can I have LED’s on a dimmer?” is YES, but you do need to get the right bulbs, fixtures, and switches.
We’re happy to help you out with all that. Just give us a call and we can chat through what you want.
Dimmer Switch FAQ’s
Maybe – but proceed with caution!
If your current dimmer switch was made for old-school incandescent bulbs, popping in an LED might cause flickering, buzzing, or that annoying “won’t turn all the way off” issue.
But don’t worry! Many LED bulbs are dimmable—you just need to pair them with a LED-compatible dimmer switch.
It’s a quick upgrade that makes a huge difference. Want us to check it out and make sure everything’s working smoothly? We’d be happy to help!
Yes they can- but not all of them!
If you want to dim your LEDs, just make sure you’re using dimmable LED bulbs and a LED-compatible dimmer switch.
Standard dimmers made for old-school incandescent bulbs don’t always play nice with LEDs—they can cause flickering, buzzing, or not dim at all. But when paired correctly? Oh baby, smooth dimming magic!
Want help making sure it all works beautifully? That’s what we’re here for—just say the word!
Great question! You can add a dimmer switch pretty much anywhere you want a little more control over your lighting vibes!
Most commonly, people install them in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and home offices—anywhere you might want to set the mood, reduce glare, or save a little energy.
Just make sure the lights you’re dimming are compatible (like dimmable LEDs or incandescent bulbs), and the dimmer switch matches the wattage and type. And if you’re not sure? That’s where we come in! We’ll make sure it’s safe, up to code, and works like a charm.
